What is a swap?

A swap is an organized exchange where participants send handmade items, postcards, or crafts to each other through the mail. You sign up, get assigned a partner, and send them something based on the swap theme.

How does partner assignment work?

Partners are assigned randomly and non-reciprocally. This means you send to one person and receive from a different person. It's always a surprise!

What are ratings?

After receiving your swap item, you rate the sender: 5 (met requirements), 3 (received but didn't meet requirements), or 1 (never received anything). You can also give a Heart for exceptional experiences.

What are Hearts?

Hearts are optional bonus recognition given alongside a 5-rating. They signify an exceptional swap experience. Coordinators must NOT make rules about when to give hearts.

What are Stars?

Stars recognize great coordinators. After a swap completes, participants vote on whether the coordinator deserves a star. If 75% or more vote yes, the coordinator earns a star.

How do I become a coordinator?

You need at least 5 completed swaps and 5 five-ratings to create your own swap.

What happens if I don't receive my item?

After 14 days past the mail deadline, you can give a 1-rating (nothing received). The 14-day delay gives postal mail time to arrive.

Can I block someone from being my partner?

Yes, you can set per-swap blocks before partner assignment. This prevents specific users from being matched with you in that swap.

What causes account suspension?

Receiving 3 or more 1-ratings within a 6-month period triggers automatic partial suspension. You can still complete active swaps but cannot join new ones.

How do I import my swap-bot.com profile?

Go to Settings and use the Import Profile feature. You'll need your swap-bot.com username and password. Your email must match between both accounts.
